Household Hazardous Waste Collection

KBB, Blount County, and TDEC will be hosting a FREE household hazardous waste drive-thru collection day on September 22nd from 8am-1pm at the Blount County Convenience Center, 331 Levi St. Maryville. Costs are paid for by the Tennessee Department of Conservation.

This is a drive-through event for household waste ONLY.  No business, institutional, or agricultural waste will be accepted in the drive-through. Wastes from non-household sources such as businesses, schools, farms, churches, etc.) is acceptable by appointment only. Call 615-643-3170 to request a price quote and schedule an appointment.

• grease and rust solvents, naval jelly
• carburetor and fuel injector cleaners
• starter fluids
• body putty

• used strippers and thinners
• adhesives
• driveway sealant
• roofing tar
• wallpaper remover
Home Lawn and Garden Products

Oil-based paint is accepted by the Blount County Convenience Center year round and will be accepted by the Center during the event. Regular single-stream recycling will still be collected by the Center as usual on the day of this event. Wastes from non-household sources such as businesses, schools, farms, churches, etc.) is acceptable by appointment only. NOTE: Alkaline batteries no longer contain mercury and can be disposed of in your normal trash. Latex paint can be dried out with cat litter, sand, or shredded paper and disposed of in your normal trash. For a list of other disposal options in Blount County, visit our website.
