Please send best wishes to our four Maryville College students, the MC-EPA-EE Fellows, as they travel to Alcoa Intermediate School on Thursday, September 14th, to provide a community environmental education activity to help grade school students and families learn about sustaining nature during that school’s parent-teacher conference day!
This is the first Community Environmental Education (CEE) event of the second year of the US Environmental Protection Agency Environmental Education (EPA-EE) Region 4 grant Maryville College was awarded in fall 2022 - and the fourth CEE event overall. Keep Blount Beautiful is participating in this grant by serving as an advisor.
The Fellows and our “Out of the Box Sustainability” project partners remind you that bees are under tremendous stress, but are vital parts of the ecosystem as the main pollinators for local plants, crops, and flowers. As the seasons change, it’s important to plant native plants and flowers – to help bees and other local species ‘bee’ happy!
